What happens on this page
Your browser asks to use your camera and microphone, and the preview plays right here. The page reads the resolution, frame rate, name and aspect ratio the browser reports for your camera and lists them below. If a browser leaves one out, the page says so.
The microphone drives the level meter next to the preview, so you can see it pick up your voice. Nothing is recorded and nothing leaves this tab. Stop the test here or close the tab to end it.
Switch cameras with the picker if you have more than one, and use Mirror to flip the preview the way you're used to seeing yourself. Mirror changes the preview only, never what the camera captures.

Questions before your next call
Press Start, and your browser asks for permission to use your camera and microphone. Allow it, and the live preview plays right here. You’ll see the picture, the resolution and frame rate your camera reports, which camera is in use, and a bar that moves when your microphone picks up sound.
The most common cause is that permission was blocked, so look for a camera icon in your browser’s address bar and allow access, then press Start again. If the preview stays black, another app may be holding the camera: close any other call or recording app and retry. Switch cameras with the picker if the wrong one is selected, and check that your browser is allowed to use the camera in your system settings.
No. The preview plays on this page and nowhere else. Your camera and microphone feed only the live preview and the on-screen level meter; nothing is recorded, saved or sent over the network. Stop the test or close the tab and the feed ends.
Yes. The test asks for your camera and microphone in one step, so you can confirm both before a call. Watch the preview for the picture and speak to see the level meter move. If the meter stays flat while you talk, check that the right microphone is selected in your system settings and that nothing has it muted.
Open this page in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox and press Start. The first time, macOS asks whether the browser may use the camera and microphone. If you don’t see a prompt or the preview stays black, open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, and make sure your browser is turned on under both Camera and Microphone, then reload and try again.
Your camera's ready. Make your screen share just as clean.
Curtains puts only the apps you pick on one canvas you share once, in any meeting app, so notifications, other apps and your desktop never show.
